What we are looking for:
Aleto Inc. is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst – Real Property & Audit Support to provide finance and budget-related support for our federal client in Silver Spring, MD. We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-directed Financial Analyst to provide support in the areas of federal real property management and audit readiness. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain data integrity, and support internal controls in alignment with federal accounting standards.
Interview Process
If you are selected for an interview, you’ll be contacted for an interview through Google Meet or by telephone. The process averages 3 weeks from initial contact to interview. After all candidates are interviewed, Aleto will notify you of your application status.
If an offer is extended, the start date is determined by availability and the amount of time it takes for the government background clearance process (depending on the client).
Financial Analyst-Essential Job Duties
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Perform regular financial analysis related to federal real property and lease assets
Prepare and review reports in accordance with federal accounting standards (FASAB, SFFAS)
Track and report on Construction Work in Progress (CWIP)
Support lease classification and compliance under OMB Circular A-11
Audit Support
Prepare audit documentation and respond to data calls from auditors
Ensure compliance with internal controls and support audit readiness efforts
Draft audit responses, memos, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Data Management & Integrity
Maintain and validate data in asset management systems (Sunflower or similar)
Identify discrepancies, reconcile data, and ensure accuracy in financial records
Perform data validation using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, formulas)
Real Property & Asset Oversight
Monitor and support federal real property and lease asset records
Assist in maintaining accurate asset lifecycle data, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers
Collaborate with stakeholders to track and classify property holdings
Communication & Documentation
Draft clear and concise reports, memos, and documentation for internal and external audiences
Summarize financial findings and present updates to RPMD and other stakeholders
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather and communicate necessary information
Project & Time Management
Manage and meet deadlines for recurring deliverables (monthly, quarterly, annually)
Work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ensure deliverables meet required accuracy and quality thresholds
Collaboration & Tools
Use Google Drive/Docs for shared collaboration and version-controlled documentation
Work effectively in a remote or hybrid setting, staying aligned with team processes and expectations

May assist in training newly hired departmental staff.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
Must pass moderate risk public trust background check (HSPD-12)
US Citizenship
10+ years in financial analysis or audit support
Experience with federal real property or asset management
Familiarity with federal accounting standards (SFFAS, FASAB)
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Expert proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, formatting, data validation)
Experience with database systems (Sunflower preferred or similar asset management tools)
Ability to perform financial reporting and identify data discrepancies
Real Property Expertise:
Experience managing or analyzing federal or commercial real property
Knowledge and understanding of Federal government budgeting rules, accounting standards, forecasting, reporting, and analysis related to facilities management.
Understanding of lease classifications (capital vs. operating under OMB A-11)
Familiarity with Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) tracking and reporting
Communication & Documentation:
Strong written communication skills for drafting memos, SOPs, audit responses, and summary reports
Ability to coordinate data calls and communicate findings to RPMD, auditors, and stakeholders
Project & Time Management:
Capable of managing monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Highly developed interpersonal and customer relationship management skills

Environment and Physical Conditions
