What we are looking for: 

Aleto, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead the company’s internal management and operational functions in alignment with Aleto’s Core Values and strategic priorities. This role is responsible for guiding the organization toward the achievement of its primary operational goals and objectives while fostering a culture of excellence. 

The Senior Director of Operations will positively influence both the employee and client experience by exemplifying strong leadership and actively supporting the coaching and professional development of Aleto team members. 

This is a corporate leadership position that contributes to company-wide strategic decision-making. Reporting within the Office of the President, the role collaborates across departments to direct operational functions and ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional client service. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Recommend appointments of Account Directors, Team Leads, or Managers and assigns or delegates responsibilities to ensure effective leadership is in place within the organization. 
  • Lead and develop a diverse set of leaders, with a focus on fostering collaboration and supporting internal and external best practices to foster an engaging company culture and improve client services. 

  • Provide mentorship and model strong communication and cross-functions partnerships to reinforce Aleto’s values and support alignment across projects.  

  • Mentor leaders within the organization by identifying growth opportunities, providing guidance, and equipping them with resources for ongoing professional development.  

  • Provide constructive coaching, actionable and timely feedback to leaders and employees, offering both recognition and development-oriented insights. Maintain a strong working knowledge of employment law and ensure full compliance in all people-management practices.  

  • Brainstorm solutions to complex issues during frequent one-on-one meetings. 

  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.  

  • Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure that work meets quality standards, adheres to specifications, and aligns with project expectations.  

  • Ensure accurate and compliant timekeeping by reviewing and spot-checking hours, particularly for T&M contracts. Approve all non-headquarters operational payroll and proactively address any delays or missing submissions with responsible employees.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

  • Work within the President of Aleto and Senior staff to coordinate the organization’s operations, maximize client services, plan for organizational growth, identify opportunities for business development, and continuously improve the efficacy of services rendered to our clients. 

  • Demonstrate alignment with the company’s values and leadership expectations by: effectively managing and growing talent; taking responsibility and accountability for decisions; serving as a coach and mentor; communicating proactively; taking informed risks and delegating appropriately; collaborating across departments; voicing concerns or misalignment constructively; championing the organization’s overall strategic direction.  

  • Manage a large portfolio of contracts and conduct regular, structured client meetings to gather feedback, address concerns, and strengthen Aleto’s role as a trusted advisor. Capture actionable insights from clients and collaborate with organizational leaders to develop and implement plans that leverage positive feedback and resolve operational or departmental issues. 

  • Analyze operations to evaluate performance of the organization and its staff in meeting objectives and determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change. 

  • Manage day-to-day operations of a large portfolio of prime and subcontract customer accounts and programs.  

  • Draft subcontract agreements for final review.  

  • Develop and take ownership of key performance indicators (KPI’s) within each functional area under the Senior Director of Operations responsibility to set clear guidance for managers and support decision-making among Aleto’s teams. Drive organizational maturity on execution for achievement of improved profitability through development of systems and repeatable processes. 

  • Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of businesses to ensure continuing operations, maximizing returns on investments, and increasing productivity. 

  • Collect and evaluate leaders’ MSR submissions and present a concise summary to the President, providing recommendations for approval or proposed modifications as needed. 

  • Work with senior leadership to develop and maintain the operational budget. Monitor budgets across projects to ensure the company is on track to meet its financial objectives.  

  • Partner with Finance to audit invoicing across all platforms and distribute detailed status reports with follow up actions as needed for delayed invoices.  

  • Partner with Human Resources on various employee services, including the approval of human resource plans, employee communication, hiring staff, project specific onboarding, and succession planning. 

  • Work with leadership to develop Standard Operating Procedures and implement the necessary SOPs across the organization.  

  • Manage risk across the operations function. Generate action plans to identify, report and mitigate identified areas of risks.  

  • Prepare and present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services. 

  • Establish project responsibilities and coordinate functions among various projects and sites. 

  • Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations, or laws to organizations, government officials, or individuals within the organization. 

  • Recommend well considered changes to the business model and overall business as new information suggests. 

  • As needed, assist with maintaining the required corporate professional certifications necessary for the company to operate as a government contractor to include CMMC and ISO certifications.  

  • As needed, provide operational support to Aleto’s subsidiary company, Logis-Tech.  

  • Develop packages around new and repeatable solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 

  • Government contracting experience is required. 

  • Strong knowledge of real estate and/or facilities support highly preferred. 

Experience: 

  • 10+ years of related government contracting, professional services operations, or related experience 

  • 10+ years of leadership experience  

  • Previous experience managing teams, government contracts, and program management offices (project portfolios) is strongly desired 

Technological Skills:  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 

  • PMP certification or equivalent is desired

  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions

Aleto offers three medical plan options to employees. Aleto contributes 75% of the employee premium to the base medical plan and the option to “buy up” for the two additional plans.

Environment and Physical Conditions  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time, move inside and around an office, position themself to access items located in high or low areas, and transport items weighing up to 20 pounds across the office. Requires the constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, and the ability to observe details at a close range, typically within a few feet of the observer.  The employee interacts frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients and must communicate information and ideas so others will understand, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The position consistently requires work to be completed in an office environment with artificial light and air.
